When and How do YOU wean? Empty When and How do YOU wean?

I think most breeders find their own way with weaning. After going to a friend's Linear Appraisal I learned a whole new technique. My babies go to nursery school during the day starting at the end of week one. They come hang out with me and get bottles during the day. At night they are allowed back with mommy. I milk every morning and evening. All my goats are healthy and when weaning time comes around my half bottle raised babies just carry on, happy to be with mom but not anxious to suck. Not only that, udders are well preserved for show and babies don't get fat.

Good idea, and I like the name you give it too, "Nursery School"! Smile
