My goats think they are humans
My goats like to eat unconventional food; they like human cereal, fruits, vegetables, cat dry food, chicken food, rolls, bread, cakes....
They like to drink human juices...
They have plenty of best quality hay in a barn, but I rarely see them eating it.
They also have a freedom to pick on any flower, shrub, tree...
They look shiny, full and happy and not getting sick - thanks God!

Mine do too, but be careful with dog, cat and chicken feed. I was told awhile back that that stuff like white breads are not good for them and can make them sick.
All my goats will fight over apples, oranges, bananas, carrots and most anything else they bump into. I like to give them carrots because it's a natural dewormer. I'll grind it up in the food processor for my chickens as well.
During harvest they love getting the corn stalks as well as corn on the cob. cherry tomatoes and green beans are among their favorite.
My alpine wether found out he loves grape soda one day so he checks out all the soda cans he can find.

Re: My goats think they are humans
ha ha....yes they are so smart
I seriously think, that they know what is good for them.
No - I'm not giving them much of the stuff that I believe might hurt them.
Oh...and thanks for the tip: I didn't know that carrots is natural dewormer. Now I'm going to buy more carrots!
Always something new we learn!

I guess my goats are picky... I only have one or two that will even try new food. If it isn't grain or hay they won't normally touch it! On the other hand my pony is a hoover vacuum! He'll eat ANYTHING.
Re: My goats think they are humans
Cat, dog and chicken foods are big NO-NO(i wouldn't even trust the "vegetarian" feeds). They contain animal pieces parts, things that a rumen isn't built to deal with.
Be careful with anything that has eggs (cakes and some breads). Again, animal products.
Think about what a goat naturally goes to to consume: Trees, grass, weeds, flowers, berries, vegetables. With the exception of eating placentas (not all dams will) and drinking mother's milk, a goat is an herbivore (vegan) by nature.
