Hay Supplier
We love our hay supplier!
During the summer they were selling direct from the field square bales @ $3/bale! Even now it is just $6/bale.
This hay, they term it "goat hay", is a pleasant blend of clover, reed canary grass, timothy, and alfalfa. Our does LOVE the reed canary grass! It is the first thing they seek out... shoving their snouts in as far as they can to grab that 1 elusive strand.

$6 a bale I won't pay over $4 for a small square bale.... I'm very glad your goats enjoy it
Re: Hay Supplier
It beats any of the other local suppliers for quality, quantity, and price all in one.
The next cheapest that we have been able to find is in Alton, at $6.50-6.99/square bale, and they are smaller and looser packed(pricing is from last spring/summer... no clue how much their pricing has risen since then). Next in line of price is Clark's Blue Seal for $7.99/ square bale for mulch hay... their cheapest feed hay runs around $10 and that is for the poor quality/very dusty hay (pricing is also from last season, and they get theirs from VT, not a local source)

Re: Hay Supplier
I'm hopping to find a good supplier of hay this summer. Im paying $6 a bail for hay right know. Early this last summer i was paying $5 a bail. I tried to find hay under $5 but every time i found a supplier they told me i need to buy at least 100 plus bales from them to get it for $3. Any less would be $5 because they were able to ship it to Texas and get $6 to 10 a bale.

Re: Hay Supplier
RJKGoats, where are you located? I know a couple locals that you could get hay from a bit cheaper. Have you looked into round bales at all?
