Items For The Kidding Kit
Chamoises, rag towels, or other absorbant cloths.
Iodine & a short small bottle, medicine cup, or plastic "dixie" type cup - for dipping the umbilical cord/s
Nolvalubehttp://vetamerica.com/nolvalube-8-lb.aspx - a ready to use antiseptic lubricant containing Nolvasan for topical or intrauterine application. This is used if/when you need to go in and find/reposition a kid.
Sterile gloves
Baby Nasal Aspirator
Sterile scissors- for cutting of the umbilical cord/s if need be. Most times the dam will trim them just perfect on her own.
Molasses - for mixing with warm water & offering to the doe to help her regain her energy.
Goat Electrolyte powder(such as Manna Pro, in a green zippered pouch) - for helping the doe rehydrate after kidding process is over.
Omega-3 Lamb & Kid High Calorie Liquid Diet - give each kid 4 ml/cc via syringe as soon as possible after birth.

I use naval cord clamps on my goat kids. You can also dental floss to tie the umbilical cord if needed.
One other thing I always mention to people is: keep your water buckets up high enough when you have a doe due to kid. I've heard of babies being delivered into water buckets & drowning---and that would not be a fun experience
